Happy Darwin Day!

Let us all celebrate the brilliant 19th Century naturalist who revolutionised the biological sciences and who would ultimately free mankind from the bonds of superstition, fear, and irrationality (ok, perhaps that has not fully happened yet, but hopefully, one day that will come true). He has provided one of the most important theories (a statement that is based on evidence gathered from a large number of observations) in all fields of biology, a theory that has become ever more important to our understanding in recent years; the theory of evolution. He was kind, quiet man who held a passion for the study of living things and with his book On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life he changed the world.

Happy 198th birthday, Charles Darwin!

------------------------------------------

Also, I have joined Richard Dawkins's Myspace campaign. For those not in the know, Dawkins is Darwin's modern-day bulldog, he has published a great deal on the evolutionary theory and has fought for secular humanism and against the superstition and irrationality of religion.
So, happy Darwin Day to all, and let us hope that one day the ignorance that inspires such beliefs as creationism shall no longer exist to provide a hindrance to humankind's potential.
That is the shortcoming here.

I haven't had an original idea in about six months and it is really starting to scare me.

Perhaps I should just join a freak show where everybody can stare at and make faces at the man without an original idea.
Or I could grow a beard, buy a dress, and become a bearded lady.

I'll tell you. After a whole lot of chaos that took place lately, I'll probably be getting around to writing Most Divine Sense again, but I expect it to be completely different, as in, starting over from the beginning. Yeh see... The way things were going, I did not feel I could get anything to move in the right direction I wanted, and everything felt that I could not logically come to the right point that all events lead up to--a sudden loss of reality in the universe, even though I don't think such a thing could ever possibly have a logical explanation... i just couldn't get anything I like.

Next off, if anybody knows of a good witch-doctor or shaman, let me know, quickly now, chop-chop!

Finally, I need to come up with a name for a new DeviantArt account. After a case of artist's block spanning five months or so I've decided to mostly leave the world of palaeontography, with the emphasis on mostly. I'll still be around and about, contributing a restoration here and a skeletal there, just not as actively as I once did. I'll still be working extensively on The PTEROSAURIA also, because I think the world needs a good website on pterosaurs, they are an all-too neglected and wonderfully weird group of creatures. I'll probably be looking into doing some other artworks of different subjects, until I find something I like. Anyway, I need to find a new name for my DA account. First, after three and a half years, I'm a little tired of it, second off, "Archosaurian" does not really reflect where I'm headed, I still draw pterosaurs, but I haven't done anything dinosurian in a year and a half and don't really expect to. I'm looking for something more ambiguous, but since my imagination broke, I'm having trouble coming up with anything. I feel like all of my capacity for anything original has been destroyed. Nyctopterus suggested a number of names, and they can be seen over at DA, but I'm not too sure if I want to steal anything.

/end of this abominable grotesquerie

In addition, this song was (somewhat) famously sung by Michael Palin of Monty Python in his travel series "Full Circle", which I have come to associate this song with.

The story of the serial novel has taken a very slight turn away from my original intentions, but later on it works out much better.

Also, for the moment at least, I'm calling it "Most Divine Sense", but I feel that that title may be more appropriate for something else I have ideas for, but that may work its way into this story, so I'm calling it that for now.
